I oppose this request. Current operations at this location create smoke and burning debris odor on a regular basis, creating hazards for traffic and neighboring residents. My home is across the street from this request. Additional commercial vehicles entering and exiting this location would create additional hazards and dangers to those county residents as well as many others who utilize this stretch of highway frequently. The visibility and size of this right of way is not equipped to handle this type of exposure. Please consider the safety and well being of the many who would be negatively affected by the approval of a sawmill operation at this location on this size parcel of land.

I oppose this request. As a resident of Apple Orchard Lane, the ongoing lumber operation at this site is an eyesore and a nuisance to our neighborhood. I am curious as to what the Special Use Permit would change as it seems much of what is described within the request is already in place and happening. Has an Augusta County official inspected this operation? Is a business license in effect? The regular burning of debris pollutes our neighborhood constantly. The entering and exiting log trucks represent a continuous danger to all drivers on Route 250 (speed limit 55 mph). This stretch of 250 has had a previous fatality. I am disappointed that I was not given a notice of this hearing by mail or otherwise. Thankfully, the good neighbors in our area made sure all residents were aware of this request.
